Home Safety Inspection
The Cardinal Joint Fire District continues to remain deeply involved within the community with regard to home fire safety. That’s why we are offering a courtesy home safety inspection. The courtesy inspection is designed to look for obvious fire and safety hazards in your home, bring them to your attention for correction, and offer suggestions concerning safety.
The inspection typically lasts between 15-20 minutes. At the conclusion of the inspection, a copy of the findings will be given to the resident, along with suggestions and recommendations on how to correct any hazards found during the inspection.
The inspection includes:
- Smoke and CO2 detector placement
- Safe ash disposal
- Home fire extinguishers
- Home escape plan
- Extension cord use
- Flammable and combustible fuel storage
- How to properly handle a cooking fire
- Smoking Safety
- Trip-and-Fall Hazards
